The following is a message from Crown King Fire Dept Chief, Steve Lombardo:
“A big THANK YOU goes out to all those that participated in the Crown King Fire Departments’ Annual Hazardous Wildland Fuels Clean Up Day. We had more people helping out and one of the best potlucks ever enjoyed after a hard days work. The recent Gladiator Fire was a graphic reminder of the wildland fire threat the community faces. By participating in this special event you showed your concern for the community and willingness to help protect our town from experiencing such an event again. From those who took time to clean up their property, to the heavy equipment operators who donated their equipment, to those who utilized their vehicles, trailers or volunteered their labor, a Ttremendous amount of slash was removed. Together we were able to assist 50 property owners in hauling 76 pick up/trailer loads and 10 dump truck loads to the slash disposal site. Without the concern and dedication you showed, this would not have been possible. Once again, thank you for your dedication to the Crown King Community and property owners.”
The General Store is selling the official Gladiator Firefighter tee shirts, with $4 from every purchase donated to the CK Fire Dept. They are selling fast! As of June 17th we have raised over $350 for our friends at the Crown King Fire Dept. Call the store and we will be glad to hold one for you. If you are out of town, we can mail one to you! Thanks to everyone who has purchased a tee shirt.
Our raffle basket tickets are still available for purchase. 100% of the ticket sales benefit the CKFD. Drawing will be held on July 1st following the “rescheduled Memorial Day Parade”. Our entire town benefits from a strong local fire department. Chief Lombardo and his crew work hard to keep our town safe throughout the year. We are extremely grateful to them!
