Look Who Rolled to Town!!

June 15th, 2011, was the first time giant tour buses maneuvered the switchbacks and arrived in Crown King! The Santa Fe Railway Historical and Modeling Society presented their members with an excursion opportunity to travel the Historic Railway trail to Crown King and visit points of interest along the way. At a little after noon, two tour buses arrived in town. Their 90 passengers unloaded on Main Street and created a record breaking line to the rest rooms! It seems their buses would not let them use their restroom while on bumpy roads!  There were folks from all over the US on board, along with a few from other countries. It was the greatest bunch of people and we are very honored that they chose to visit the Crown King Historical Society and Crown King General Store. It was a gorgeous day for a fresh deli lunch on the Main Street Patio on the side of the General Store. The guests were treated to a tour of the Historical Museum. Many of the visitors donated generously to the CK Historical Society during their visit. After lunch all our guests enjoyed a free Thrifty Ice Cream Cone at the Rocky Road Sweet Stop on the porch of the General Store. What a delightful day it was for everyone! Thanks to our friends at The Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society for dropping by and allowing us to share in your unique experience! A special thank you to Marc Pearsall and Eric Hiser from all of us at the CK General Store! We truly appreciate you both!
