Our CK Volunteer Fire Department was recently privilaged to join other First Responders across the nation to honor the Fallen Heroes of 9/11. Longtime friend of our town, Dane Briggs, offered to post a patch for our fire department at the famous O’Hara’s Pub near Ground Zero in NYC. On a recent trip to New York, Dane noticed all the hundreds of patched that covered the wall at this popular pub. Located just down the street from one of the local FDNY stations that lost so many in the horrible events of 9/11, O’Hara’s Pub has become a sort of shrine to the local heroes. Cheif Steve Lombardo provided Dane with a patch to hang on the wall during his next business trip. Late January, Dane Briggs found himself at a conference in NYC. Below are photos of the O’Hara Pub and their tribute to the Fallen Heroes. Thanks again to Dane Briggs for helping CKFD to show their respect for their comrades.
