The 9th Annual Wine in the Pines at the Crown King Saloon, benefiting the Child Crisis Center, was one for the record book! We raised $6,700 for the Child Crisis Center while having a wonderful evening in the pines! Many thanks to all the volunteers, donors and guests who helped to make the event a huge success. Not only did we raise a record amount of funds for the Child Crisis Center, but the silent auction also raised $700 for the local Crown King Fire Department. Without the continued support of all our Crown King friends it would not have been possible. Thanks to Musicologist Bob Cosburn for keeping the party rolling! Yummy Mexican Food was donated by the award winning El Bravo Mexican Restaurant in Phoenix. The Crown King General Store’s G & S Catering treated the guests with fine appetizers & Italian Food while Megan Knox of Doozy’s Bakery delighted the guests with unbelievable desserts! Fine wines, craft beers, great food & plenty of laughter created a magical evening in the tall pines of our quaint little town. Both the Silent Auction and Raffle Baskets were extremely popular. This year’s Door Prize was donated by local metal artist, Jeff Sims. The Door Prize winners, Meg & Skip, are both artists as well and they truly appreciated the one of a kind wine holder.
The Annual Wine in the Pines, hosted by Carol Boles & Jackie Briggs has raised over $37,000 to date. In addition to the much needed funds, the event promotes awareness for the non-profit Child Crisis Center, devoted to children who need a safe haven. The Child Crisis Center was first established in Mesa, Arizona in 1981. Since that time, the CCC has provided a safe environment for children at risk and Family Resources to help build strong families. Carol & Jackie originally volunteered at the CCC in Mesa years ago. As the distance and demands of running their real estate business made volunteering difficult, they decided to help raise funds for the center instead. Since 2006 Wine in the Pines has grown into one of the favorite events for many Crown King-ers.
Thanks to all our friends who helped to set up the event, everyone who served & assisted and to those who helped to clean up as well. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and we hope you all had lots of fun at the 9th Annual Wine in the Pines.
