4th Annual Apple Festival – October 17, 2009

Fall is the perfect time to discover the charm of the Historic mining town of Crown King, Arizona. The leaves are turning and the apples are ripe! Every October, the entire town of Crown King gets in on the fun of the Apple Festival, an old-fashioned country fair. Nothing compares to the breathtaking views from the 28 mile dirt road leading up to one of Arizona’s best kept secrets. Bring the little ones and your sense of adventure to Crown King on October 17th!

Crown King’s 4th Annual Apple Festival promises fun for the entire family. Crown King’s original one-room schoolhouse will be open for tours 10am – 1pm. The students will tempt you with tasty desserts on their ‘Cake Walk’ and impress you with their knowledge of the local history. Come up early and enjoy a deluxe pancake breakfast at the Crown King Cafe, starting at 8am. For only $5, your child enjoy a fun-filled day: Children will choose and decorate their own pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch, play games, go on a treasure-hunt, ride the hayride through town, dip and decorate apples at the General Store and more! At the Fire Dept, children will learn to be “fire-wise” and become Certified Junior Firefighters. For an extra fee, kids can pan for gold at the Prospector Mall. For adults, check out the arts & crafts booths and the new Crown King Historical Society exhibit. At 4pm, join in the fun of the Apple Bake-Off at The Mill Restaurant.

Our 4th Annual Apple Festival will be an exciting day, rain or shine! Not familiar with Crown King? Check out www.CrownKingAZ.com for town info and directions. SUV or truck recommended, we are off the beaten path! Proceeds benefit the Crown King Historical Society. Hope to see you there!
