Over 100 Jeeps braved the rugged trail from Lake Pleasant to Crown King on Saturday, Aug. 25th. Ben Boles, a member of the VJC and owner of the Crown King General Store was at the Castle Rock Mining Claim to greet the jeepers and take action photos of their adventure. The slide show shares this year’s Annual Run photos from the trail and the town. We hope you enjoy them! SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2ND:The Crown King Historical Society presents it’s Centennial Legacy Project. The party will be held at the General Store Patio from 1pm – 5pm. The celebration will feature a live band, food, beer & special guests. Come join us as they roll out the new Crown King Historical Buildings Walking Tour. Admission is free to CK Historical Society Members, all other guests…. $10 adult & $5 under 12.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH: You do not want to miss this one!! The annual Crown King Fire Dept Auction & Dinner Dance is the single biggest fund raiser for our local fire department. Chief Lombardo and his crew host one of the best events in Crown King! The CKFD spent a lot of resources on the recent Gladiator Wildfire. Our town is still here thanks to all the brave firefighters who risked so much to save us. There will be a children’s auction (stuff for little ones, not actually auctioning the kids!) beginning at 3PM. The Grown-Up Auction begins immediately following the kids. You will not believe what great stuff is donated to the CKFD Auction!!! If you would like to donate an item, please feel free to call Carol Boles 602-717-6363. We are looking for sporting event tickets, gift baskets, certificates…. you get the idea!! The BBQ begins at 6pm with Dance and Raffle after dinner. Admission is $15 … Kids under 12 are FREE. SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 29TH: The Crown King Open Golf Tournament. YES! Golfing in Crown King! Even if you don’t golf, you may want to travel up and check this one out! This Annual Event is loads of fun and will raise money for the Crown King Road Maintenance Association. There are still spots open for your ‘foursome’.
