The AZ Krawlers Annual” Krawl to the King”, Sat July 27th, was a huge boost to the local economy! Thanks so much to all the organizers and sponsors for your continued support of our community and local businesses. It was great to see the 70+ Jeeps & 4×4’s flooding Main Street again. The AZ Krawlers “Krawl to the King” is a Charity Trail Run that raised $3,000 for Project H3 and the families of the fallen Prescott Forest firefighters. Congratulations to AZ Krawlers for hosting such a successful event. The AZ Krawlers members paid a $20 donation per vehicle to participate. At the end of the trail all the Krawlers were welcomed at the Historic Crown King Saloon! Upon arrival, the Krawlers enjoyed a delicious pulled pork lunch and some cold beers. Later there were plenty of raffle prizes paid out to lucky winners. From the latest reports, all the vehicles made it up the rugged trail. A yellow Jeep is parked behind the CK General Store with a broken axle (but Tony did manage to rig it up so it would drive to CK), and another broken truck arrived with help from a tow strap! We are glad you all made it up safe and were able to enjoy a gorgeous summer day in the mountains.
The new owners of the CK Saloon, Erica & Doug White, did a fantastic job of hosting on their side yard. While the Krawlers were taking over the Saloon, Mike & Sam Christie at The Mill were ‘crazy busy’ keeping our tourists fed and happy! All in all, it was a great day in Crown King. Thanks again on behalf of the CK community!
Don’t forget about the Horseshoe Pitch next weekend at the CK Saloon! The next big event is the CK Fire Dept Auction & Dinner Dance Sept 21st. This is the largest fundraiser for the CKFD and one of the all-time favorites for Crown King-ers and Vistors alike. Next is the Golf Tournament Sept 28th (wait till you see what we create for a golf course up here). Following those events are the 29th Annual Fall Chili Cookoff on Oct 5th and the 8th Annual Apple Festival Oct 19th.
