Here are the photos from the 2014 Fall Chili Cook-Off at the Historic Crown King Saloon Oct 4th.
The 30th Annual Fall Chili Cook-Off at the Historic Crown King Saloon was one for the record books! There were 26 Chili Contestants with a huge variety of chili to sample. From Rattlesnake, to Deer and Pork, there were varieties galore! Judging this year was especially tough, as there were many chilis that were contenders. Congratulations to this year’s winners.
All winners were treated to a cash award along with a basket of CK Saloon goodies! Third Place cash of $125 was awarded to # 2, Dennis & Barbara’s KTM Chili. Second Place cash of $150 was awarded to #17 If It’s Not From Here, It’s Blowin’ Out Your Rear Chili. First Place Winner took home $200. Congratulations to #22 Maria’s Four Stage Chili for being the judge’s #1 Winner. The coveted ‘Peoples Choice’ winner is determined by a vote of the sampling public. This year’s winner took home $175! Congratulations to Janet and her #1 Smokin’ Big Buck Chili.
The chili lovers were treated to some spectacular samples of chili. Check out the slide show for photos of this popular Crown King event. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Fall Chili Cook-Off. We hope that everyone had fun and enjoyed a safe weekend in Crown King. It’s been a while since all the camp sites near Crown King were so full. It wasn’t hard to see why, as the weather was perfect!
The CK Historical Society is hosting the Apple Festival on October 18th. It’s another perfect time to visit CK. This event is geared towards kids, so pack up the young ones and come up to CK. For only $5 wristband, your little one can enjoy hayrides, pumpkin patch, fudge dipped apples, games, tour the one room school house, bouncy house & more! Help spread the word! It’s fun for the entire family.
