The Crown King Saloon hosted its Annual Spring Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, April 12th. This year’s contestants brought out a variety of unique and tasty pots of chili for the guests to sample. Judging was performed by eight tasters, who all agreed they had a hard time choosing the winner.
This year’s coveted PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD and $125 went to Joe Max and his # 13 “Joe’s Momma Chili”. Joe says it was his mother’s own recipe!
The judges awarded the following trophies: FIRST PLACE and $150 went to Marco Islas and his # 15 ‘El Diablo Chili’. His friend, Nick Brnilovich took SECOND PLACE and $100 with #14 ‘Brnilly Chili’. THIRD PLACE and $75 was won by Randy Faunce with his #8 ‘Blackbean Chili’. Congratulations to all the winners, who went home with trophies, some great prizes and cash too.
